Austin turns 16 today {sigh}. He now has a license to drive...and to date. Applications for possible dates are now being accepted. Screening will be done by none other than yours truly. Me. Austin's mom.
Wasn't he a cute baby? He's still cute. And I'm not just saying that
Wasn't he a cute baby? He's still cute. And I'm not just saying that
because I'm his mother. It's the talk around town.
Austin gets good grades (straight A's) and is an Eagle Scout. Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Can I add handsome? And hard working? He works at an assisted living center serving dinner to the residents and doing the dishes. I'm not even making that up. Add "athletic" to Austin's list of skills. Basketball is his first love, and tennis takes a close second. He still kisses me goodnight.
Do I sound like a proud mom? That's just what I am.
Oh...and about clearing the roads. Austin is an awesome driver. Extremely cautious...10 and 2 position at all times. Absolutely no fiddle diddling with ipods or cell phones while driving. It's not him that I don't trust...it's all of you out there.
Happy Birthday, Austin!

Hey Lynette! Is that the same Austin that played with playdoh at my house in San Antonio in 1995? He looks great, and the write-up is remarkable. I would like to apply for a date for my daughter, Lexie, but he'll have to wait until 2012. Maybe she should wait until Clay is being advertised. He is more her age, and he was adorable as he fell asleep while the older boys made playdoh creations. Long live rubber spider pranks! Thanks for providing my first blog experience. You are a terrific writer, photographer, and card maker! We'll check in again! Diane Refosco diref@embarqmail.com
I'm thinking Austin and.....Raegan! Whatd'ya think??
I'm pretty sure he's what the girls call "a hottie". What a great kid! I hope Luke will follow suit.
I have to say that I agree 100% with everything you have said about Austin! He is a STUD! Any girl that gets a date with him is SO lucky! If I was 8 years younger I would be your first applicant ;) Happy Birthday Austin!!!
What a fine boy and so cute to boot. Er, handsome, to boot. Congratulation on rearing such a fine young man.
PS My cards came today! Hooray. I have never seen such beautiful work. It will be VERY hard for me to give them away.
And I love, love, love Fungus Face, as I am calling him until you give him a proper name. Thank you. I will be taking him to church Sunday to help my little friend, Ella, get over the 1:00 o'clock Sacrament meeting time when she is so tired and cranky that its not funny. She was unreal last week. Her daddy took her out after the Sacrament and I leaned up and said to her mom, "That's why old people don't have kids," and she said, "I'm worn out. I'm sweating!"
So Fungus Face will be a great relief on Sunday. I will try to be discreet and not let the bishop see me playing with a one year old.
Thank you so much. And you live practically next door. My son and daughter in law live in PG.
The cards are BEYOND BEAUTIFUL! I love them. And you.
So sad I am already engaged! It would be great to connect our families! I didn't even know you have a blog! I'm going to be a re-occuring visitor from now on!
